Dear Carol,
I was reading your blog daily for about 2 months I guess, but this post touched me, I also lost my father few years go.
its amazing, through internet how you can still feel people so close no matter how far. Im from a tiny island in the caribbean, Aruba. And well I also started to leave my impressions through a blog I started recently. As you say we may never know how our writing skills can be useful.

Dear Carol

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I lost mine to prostate cancer last September and you are right, writing is therapeutic as well as moving. My sister & I are committed to raising money for the hospice Dad spent his last days and for some reason we’ve decided to take a trip on the River Thames in a kayak. Recently finishing the website for the (http://www.thameschallenge.org.uk) has brought up all sorts of emotions, but I’m glad I can do this, to hopefully make a difference to families needing the hospice in the future.

We did meet a while back at one of Paul Gorman’s events.

thank you for your post. I think it’s great that you and your sister are taking such positive action.

Good luck with your kayak trip - that’s certainly something different. Is it a sponsored trip?
